The Circle Maker - Week 2 Reflections

Have you ever thought about how many times a little occurrence has surprisingly BIG consequences? Drop a pebble into a still pond and watch the ripples work their outward in circles that seem to go on and on. Think about a shift in the crust of the earth along a fault line. This small movement of inches can send shockwaves for miles and redefine an entire landscape. Sometimes a small or seemingly inconsequential action has enormous repercussions.

In a very similar way, God loves to take small, ordinary, and surprising people and accomplish huge things for his glory. All through the Bible, and all through history, God has sent ripples of His glory and power into this world through the conduit of His people’s dreams and prayers.

1. A “big dream” is defined as something that is bigger than you and beyond your human ability to accomplish. Take a moment to write down two or three dreams and/or prayers you have that you feel would honor God, and are clearly beyond your ability to accomplish on your own. They could be dreams and prayers for your life, family, church, community, or anything that God places on your heart.

2. First, identify a time you pray everyday. Then, pick a place you will go consistently to meet with God in prayer. Be sure this is place where you feel connected to God and free of distractions. Finally, identify a specific person, promise or problem (perhaps the two or three things you named in question 1) you will circle in prayer every day for the upcoming week. Be sure to keep this appointment with God every day and see what He accomplishes in and through you
