I am excited to join you in serving your community and growing in faith this summer.   I am humbly grateful for the opportunity to serve as your pastor and I am thrilled to learn of all the beautiful work you do to show the love of Jesus Christ to all people.

I want to introduce myself and share with you some of my journey that has brought me to serve you as pastor.  I recently graduated from Methodist Theological School of Ohio with a Masters in Divinity and I was Commissioned as a Provisional Elder at the West Ohio UMC Annual Conference this June.  I have served as a Licensed Local Pastor while studying at seminary full time at Marysville First United Methodist Church and as Associate Pastor at Crossword United Methodist Church in Marion in 2015-2016. I have a bachelor’s degree from Otterbein University in Public Relations with a minor in music / vocal performance.   I met my wonderful husband, Joe, while at Otterbein and we have been married for almost 22 years and have lived in Marysville for 17 years. Joe is a physical education teacher at Marysville High School, where he has taught for 19 years. We have 4 children. Our twin daughters, Kayla and Shelby, are 18 and just graduated from Marysville High School this year. Kayla will attend Bluffton University to study Food Dietetics and Nutrition and Shelby will attend Otterbein University to study Musical Theatre this coming fall. We also have two sons, Logan is 15 and will begin his freshman year at MHS and Brody is 10 and will be a 5th grader at Creekview Intermediate this upcoming school year.

I am very excited to partner with you all to share the love of Jesus Christ with the community! You are welcome to email me at pastorsaramcswords@gmail.com or call me at (937) 246-3892 with any needs.  I hope to set up meetings in the coming weeks and months to get to know you all!

I have already been blessed by your prayers, your kindness and your welcoming spirit that you share with all people that visit the church.  I am confident that the Holy Spirit will continue in you and through you as you seek to share the love of God with all people through your beautiful ministries in the community.

In Christ’s love –

Pastor Sara
